::1ST EDIT::  If you want a quick run down, just scroll to the bottom.

In the event you should wonder who is responsible for the updates of this particular xanga, I, Ricky Armellino, take sole responsibility for any outgoing comments made, entries written, blogrings, etc.  That being said, I should get on the ball letting you guys know exactly what has been going on lately.

For the last 3 years, Bedford Exit has been one of the biggest parts of my life.  I've helped write almost any of the guitar or bass parts you'll hear.  I've written the lyrics.  I sing (and yell) almost all of the vocal parts you'll hear on any given recording.

We've headlined our favorite local venues, played with more than a handful of bands we respect, made lots of close friends somewhere along the road, pushed tickets for shows, gained a short lived record contract, and recorded two CDs.  All of these things are fine and good, but overall pretty worthless in the end.

When my old band broke up, I made Bedford Exit solely to play in a band with my four best friends: Sam, Nate, John, and Jack.  When Nate left, we put in another one of our best friends, Evan.  When John and Sam left, we put in other personal best friends: Mike, Tomy, and Chris.  I love the members of my band because they are my best friends.  Each one has so much heart about everything they do in life; playing punk rock just seemed like kind of a bi-product to everything else.

A few things have been kind of changing around, and being put on hold.  I'm sure plenty of you have heard plenty of hearsay, so I'll set everything straight:

Bedford Exit will kind of remain invisible for a while.  We will be playing our next few dates as planned, and remain a band over the next couple of months, and months after that to follow.  Being from Allentown and without a car, Mike (the backbone of our whole band) won't be able to continue driving to and from Lancaster for every practice, hang-out, and show like the past year.

Tomy Lipka quit the band for various reasons (without any bad feelings from either side), and Asian has been filling the noisy void he left behind.  If everyone could make Asian feel as welcome as possible and be really encouraging to the guy, that'd be awesome: He's a really great keyboard player.

As of now, without Tomy or Chris, our old 4 song demo seems kind of obsolete already (This is nothing new for anyone, I'm sure).  We'll be getting it up on here for download as soon as we can, and hopefully some people might forward us a few bucks for a hard copy or two.

Evan has been on vacation a lot, I rarely really get to see the guy.  I miss him a lot even though I live with him.  It sucks sometimes.  Jack has been practicing guitar non-stop and saving his money for some ridiculous gear.  I've been doing vocal warm-ups every single day, and writing out the story board for the upcoming albums songs.  Mike has been making cool artwork ideas and decorating his drums.  Asian dances like he means it.

Anyway, the one thing I've noticed is that there's always some non-stop controversy about some of the things us or our friends, otherwise known as the "BTY" crew (which though is NOT solely Bedford Exit, we take any royalties for legal use of the name).  We don't start needless drama without reason.  We don't attack others.  We don't come to shows in order to "make light" of everyone else's good time.  Contrary to popular belief, we actually care about music and everyone who comes to our shows: we wouldn't have spent the last three years spending all of our money and time over our band just to make fun of anyone.

It's a really big shame the break has to go down at this current juncture: the last 10 shows or so have been a blast.  Kids run around and dance however the hell they want, be it kicking or just running back and forth to frog hop eachother.  I didn't see anyone get uptight about this scene or that.  We made a lot of friends with a lot of talented kids around here.  Our new songs were a lot of fun to play, and I actually started feeling comfortable with a microphone.

So is there an upside?  Fuck yeah.

-We're writing new stuff, and working really hard.  It's not even close to completion and I'm already both ecstatic and proud.  Expect pure hot fire when the next album is completed.  Also, like always, expect something new.

-You can get ahold of us any time on this thing or our myspace.  I'll put dates up every now and then (our current ones still remain on our myspace), and we'll keep you up to date with the latest and greatests.

-BTY fucking owns everything in this town.

-If anyone wants to help us out a little with funds and other crap we need to worry about, you can chip in by buying a shirt, button, CD, belt or anything else we could try to convince one of our girlfriends to make for you.

-When we make our full onslaught of a debut (hopefully with Gwar and Planes Mistaken for Stars), I want you kids to punch everything, and anyone, in sight.

I couldn't ever thank everyone who supported us for this long individually, so I'll just get all Bane on you:

“I wish that I could spread my arms so wide that I could wrap them around everyone I’ve ever known and loved”

-Ricky, company, and not company

Ok, so it's 2 in the morning and I have only a few things to talk to you about.

1.  Turkey subs + live rock action= delicious

2.  Bedford has been setting off lots of fireworks illegally in several choice states excluding Texas and Californa, but most definately including Michigan and Canada.

3.  Pottstown, in addition to several shows, was fun.  Thank you for having us and dancing with us during the other bands.

* Mike's moves just demand the term "check it"

** Dancing concluded in two really huge guys yelling at eachother because big guy A (edit: huge) called big guy B's friend " a stupid bitch" and proceded to tell her to "shut the fuck up".  Obviously, we sided with big guy A because he was hillarious and gave both myself and Mike piggy back rides: simmultaneously.  When no fight broke out, we stood in the parking lot, accusing Pottstown of being a bunch of flaming pussy-wagons with big mouths.

4.  It is 2 in the morning and I am exhausted.

5.  We got new shirts in, they're alright.  Let me know if you'd like to buy one or buy a ticket to our shows or something.  The 23rd is imperitive still, for one reason or another.  Big Dotz is now going to be showing up, so you have no reason for being a stupid sell out that listens to shitty punk music and come have fun.

6.  Meet John, he's down with BTY.

You can get all the info on our myspace.

But anyway, where were we?  If you guys haven't heard about our "crew", BTY!, it would probably deter a lot of you from asking why we have those particular initials markerred on a lot of our stuff.

Evan sports it.

Jack sports it.

Mike sports it.

Tomy and I just kind of damage everyone's good time.

But yeah, it's our crew.  And it means that we hang out at the house in Cottage street, have lots and lots of mp3s for file sharing, make music, and have sweet barbeques that include the police confinscating our megaphone for barking at some kids putting up the letters in front of Penn Manor.

Which poses the question, which one of you clowns drives a dark green SUV and puts up the letters in front of Penn Manor?  That kid seriously tried to grit on us with the lamest disses ("... why don't you guys like, not be gay?") and then told his schools police officer we threatened him.  That kid needs to go.

But yeah, besides that, BTY! has been growing in size.  Just check our poss of neighborhood kiddles:

I can not stress to you enough...

Do not fuck with us.  We meant business with him, we'll mean business with you.

Anyway, the process of writing has been a really good time.  This summer we'll get to be together just about every day and I can't even begin to imagine what type of fun that will cause.  I'd imagine lots of cigars, cheesesteak surgery, and mall antics.  Probably hanging at some point with some of our good buddies from the following bands you should check out-
Hey Hey
Your Best Regret
Abulia
The Letters Organize
Piano
Bled Across Miles

They all rule.  Is there anything else left to write in today's entry?  I'm getting edgey to play another show, hopefully I'll have some new camo and Hatebreed jerseys to rep.  One could only hope...

Until then...  Keep leaving unintelligible comments and e-handjobs for our egos.

Sunday, April 17, 2005

Uhhh... ok, so where are we with this particular entry?  Shows last night were both pretty fun.  Thanks to Chris and the JCC for having us. Amanda took some pretty rad photos at the JCC...  She's got a bunch more on her photobucket, which is on her xanga, which is now on our xanga.

Yeah, I put that first one up because it was of me.

Just wanted to clear a few things up, since you kids will probably fuck the story up over and over.  A few set-backs occured at the JCC- we chose to slander them online for a few reasons, and they were pretty sketchy about letting us play.  At the end of the set, one of the women working there talked to the audience, and a few words were said back and forth on stage.  While we were packing up, they both came outside to talk to us, and we cleared everything up pretty quickly.  Not only did we apologize, but we got to chat about the way shows are set up, and hopefully the JCC will let kids like us book flat rate shows after the couple of shows after May are done.  We just want to specify that there is currently no bad blood, we apologize for any remarks made, and we'll support the place as long as they give promoters a chance to make back their money on the shows in a reasonable fashion.

Anyway, before the show, we decided to have an impromptu photo shoot with the following items:

-80's Tomy
-80's Tomy wearing dollar store sunglasses
-80's Tomy wearing 2 dollar novelty Hulk gloves that roar when you punch things
-About 10 of the neighborhood kids.

We told the kids about this xanga, I hope they stop by to check it out, we'll put the pictures up here asap because they're cute as buttons.

When you spam xangas, you see some pretty piss-poor trends.  Did everyone just all of the sudden realize the Cure exists?  And while you're at it, just get someone else to take your profile pics for you and cut it with the cunt eclipse.  Bah.

Anyway, we love it when you leave comments.

April 16th @ The JCC
May 21st @ The JCC
May 23st @ The Chameleon Club /w FOLLY AND GYM CLASS HEROES! THEY ARE ACTUALLY OUR FRIENDS AND YOU SHOULD SEE THEM PLAY BECAUSE THEY ARE GOOD!

And we love it when you go to our shows

We also love it when you join this  Blogring.

And promote for us.
